Shauna Coxsey takes a third at IFSC Climbing World Championships as GB look ahead to Olympics

Shauna Coxsey has won bronze in the combined discipline at the IFSC Climbing World Championships and now all eyes are on team GB at the Olympics next summer.

The 26-year-old added to her third place in the bouldering event last week with another medal as she continued her preparations for next summer.

Defending champion Janja Garnbret successfully retained her title in what was her third gold medal of the championships, while second place went to Japan's Akiyo Noguchi.

Heading into the final Great Britain were already guaranteed a place in Tokyo next year as Coxsey had topped the qualifying round.

But she could do little to stop Garnbret overhauling her as the Slovenian clinched a sixth world title in just four years.

The 2020 Games will be the first time that sport climbing has featured in the Olympics, with surfing, skateboarding, karate and baseball also making inaugural appearances.
