Dame Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins to release new version of 'We'll Meet Again'

War-time singer Dame Vera Lynn and opera star Katherine Jenkins are to release a new version of Lynn's iconic war-time song 'We'll Meet Again'.

Lynn's original song has jumped 850 places in the iTunes charts to number 22 after The Queen referenced the famous lyric in her address to the nation on Sunday.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Jenkins said: "All proceeds will be going to the NHS Charities Together, which is an amazing charity providing things like lunch, food, snacks, paying car parking for the staff and then helping them with their mental health and support after the crisis.

"It's amazing and such an honour to [do the song] with Dame Vera who invited me to record the song with her a few years ago."

Lynn's daughter Virginia Lewis Jones was also on GMB and described her mother's reaction to the Queen referencing the song.

"She found it quite funny, she thinks The Queen is wonderful and I think she actually made a complete point of saying that right at the very end [of her speech] because they are words that resonate now as they did all those years ago and will continue to do so.

"People will always be apart, people will always hopefully get back together again and the words are meanignful and very poignant and very important."

The single will be released on April 11.
