Eamonn Holmes shares fears he only has four years to live after father died aged 64

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has shared his fear that at 60 he only has four years left to live, after his father died of a heart attack aged 64.

The host of This Morning was speaking on The Journey podcast with Pete Snodden when he spoke of his growing awareness of his mortality.

“My father [Leonard] was dead at 64. He died of a heart attack. That gives me four years,” he said.

He added that his wife and co-presenter Ruth Langsford urged him not to worry.

"Ruth says, ’Don’t talk like that’, but you do think like that," he said.

Belfast-born Holmes said he hadn’t yet managed to achieve everything he wanted to in his career, saying: "There’s projects that I crave and I’ve got interests in lots of things.

“I’m not a superhuman. But I have a positivity, a lust for life. I don’t feel that I want to slow up," he said.
