Olympic gold medallist Zara Phillips and husband Mike Tindall won't self-isolate after Italy trip

The Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips will not self-isolate to stop the spreading of the coronavirus following a trip to Italy.

Phillips and her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall, returned from a skiing holiday in northern Italy where an outbreak of the coronavirus has occurred.

The pair's management said that the couple have followed guidelines but as neither of them had exhibited symptoms of the virus they would not be self-isolating.

Earlier this week, a school in Cheshire had closed over fears of an outbreak of the virus following a ski trip to the same resort as the royal couple.

There have been 13 recorded cases of the coronavirus in the United Kingdom to date.
