Skateboarding Olympic hopeful Sky Brown skates with legend Tony Hawk

Skateboarding youngster Sky Brown has shared her admiration for legend Tony Hawk after they skated together in Berlin.

The 11-year-old, who is set to become Britain's youngest Olympian this summer, shared a photo of herself with Hawk on Instagram.

And Brown was evidently over the moon to be meeting one of her idols.

She said: "Me and @tonyhawk sitting with our boards, And I can’t stop Smiling!!

"Tony is such a Legend it makes me nervous. And it’s NOT just because of how gnarly he is on a skateboard, or his 900, or any of the other tricks that he invented.

"But, it’s because Tony has used his Skateboard to do so much good around the world and that is really special and amazing."

The pair came together at the Laureas Sports Awards to promote Skateistan, a charity which offers freedom and education to girls in Afghanistan.

Hawk also shared his love of Brown earlier this week at the awards when he said: "Skateboarding is lucky to have girl like Sky Brown."

Brown will find out if she has made Team GB in June.
