Commentator Andrew Cotter turns his skills to hilariously describe meal time for his pet dogs

One of the BBC's most familiar voices has turned his skills to commentating on an unlikely contest - meal-time for his two pet dogs.

Sports broadcaster Andrew Cotter is more at home describing the likes of rugby, tennis, golf, athletics and The Boat Race.

The video, which was uploaded to Twitter, was captioned 'I was bored' as Cotter attempts to keep himself amused while isolating at home.

He opens by saying: "It's fitting that it should come down to these two. Olive in her familiar black, five-times the champion, Mabel a rising star, winner last year. You can see how excited they are, but also feel the tension."

Former Scotland rugby captain John Barclay responded, asking: "If I send you a video of me making sourdough will you do a commentary?"

Cotter responded: "I think I probably would."

Paralympian Tanni Grey-Thompson also responded: "That is quality commentary when you can make it sound like a sporting event. Loving your work Mr Cotter."

While fellow commentator Sonja McLoughlan wrote: "So bored I’m now looking forward to the next instalment!"
