Family Fortunes set to return after 18 years with Gino D'Acampo as new host

ITV have announced the return of Family Fortunes later this year, with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo set to host the show’s reprise.

The original format of the show, which sees members of the public guess the most said answers from a survey of 100 people, has not been on British TV screens since 2002.

Vernon Kay presented a celebrity edition of the show for nearly a decade (PA)

Les Dennis was the last presenter of the series, although Vernon Kay spearheaded a celebrity version which ran from 2006 to 2015.

But an exclusive from The Sun has now confirmed the family entertainment programme will be back on ITV in 2020 with D’Acampo offering a new look as he fills Dennis’ boots.

An ITV source told The Sun: "Family Fortunes is one of TV’s most-loved formats and ITV have been looking at when it might be right to bring it back.

"After a successful pilot earlier this year, they’re putting it back on primetime where it belongs.

"Gino is all but signed and they think he will bring his own unique brand of enthusiasm and charisma to the show."

D’Acampo has made a name for himself as one of the biggest characters on TV with regular spots on This Morning and Celebrity Juice.
