Joe Wicks pledges all proceeds from 'the nation's PE teacher' videos to the NHS

Joe Wicks has said he will be donating 'every single penny' from his 'nation's PE teacher' videos to the NHS.

The 33 year-old has been giving daily PE lessons to students and those isolating at home, since schools were closed as part of the Government's 'stay at home' measures were introduced.

The Body Coach has gained more than one million new viewers since starting the lessons on Monday and on Friday posted that the revenue from these had been 'unlike anything' he had ever experienced.

Since then, he has posted to Instagram that the full amount generated by the lessons would be donated to supporting the NHS in their fight against coronavirus.

Alongside the picture he wrote: "Words can't express how happy and proud I have felt every day this week as the nations P.E. teacher. I’ve been overwhelmed with the response and the support it's had from everyone.

"As a result of so many people viewing the #PEWithJoe workouts on YouTube the advertising revenue generated has been unlike anything I've seen or experienced on my channel before.

"So I've decided that as long as I’m the nations P.E. teacher, every single penny of the money generated on these videos is going to the place where we need it the most right now. All of it is going straight to the NHS, to support the real heroes right now.

"Thank you for watching, joining in and sharing… I’m loving being your P.E. Teacher and now you can watch again, knowing you’re not only staying fit, you’re also helping raise money for the NHS.

"See you Monday at 9am," he finished.

Families across the country have been getting involved with the daily exercise regime which attracted more the 800k viewers on its first day.

Joe's efforts have gained praise from celebrities and social media followers alike.

Jools Oliver, wife of TV Chef Jamie, commented: "o lovey thank you @thebodycoach our kids have loved having you in our he wonderful wonderful big hugs to your gorgeous brood."

While ITV'SThis Morning presenter Ruth Langford added: "Fantastic Joe....congratulations! ?Thank you for supporting the @nhswebsite Keep up the good work x x."
