Spurs goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer urges women to stop panic buying sanitary products

Tottenham goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer has urged women to stop panic buying sanitary products after she discovered shops had sold out.

Consumers have been buying more than they usually would during the coronavirus outbreak with many retailers now limiting the amount of products customers can buy.

Spencer took to social media to try to deter people from shopping for more than they need.

She wrote on Twitter: "Can’t even get a box of tampons now, come on ladies we are only due on once a month,so leave a few spare boxes for us non bulk buyers please! Thank you."

Other women replied to Spencer saying they had similar experiences.

Former England and Chelsea defender Claire Rafferty wrote: "Same... had to go for Super +"

Journalist Beth Fisher wrote: "Was thinking the same thing! Just ordered some on Amazon."

While Liverpool player Rachel Furness commented: "Seen these in Liverpool. Sending them via pigeon"
