11 year-old skateboarder Sky Brown shares inspirational message following horrific fall

British skateboarder Sky Brown has said ‘you’ve got to get back up and keep on going’ following a life-threatening accident earlier this month.

The 11 year-old fell from a ramp in California on June 2, and was taken to hospital in a helicopter and was unresponsive on arrival.

She fractured her skull and broke both her left wrist and hand, but is expected to fully recover.

She told BBC Sport: "People might think I’m super girl or something but I want to show sometimes you’re going to fall.

"I want to spread the message that it’s OK to fall sometimes, you are going to fall, Beyonce’s going to fall, all your heroes are going to fall.

“I wanted to show you’ve got to get back up and keep on going.”

Brown is set on becoming Britain’s youngest summer Olympian at the postponed Tokyo Games next year.
