The LPGA have cancelled the 2020 Buick LPGA Shanghai event due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

It comes after China’s government announced that all international sporting events in the country would be called off. 

The event on the LPGA Tour was due to take place on October 15-18 and has been cancelled ‘given the current health concerns and significant travel restrictions put in place due to the COVID-19’.

The Buick LPGA Shanghai is going to return in 2021 at Qizhong Garden Golf Club.

The LPGA Tour got underway earlier this month for the first time since March with the Drive on Championship and the Marathon Classic in Ohio.
