Adele’s new album delayed and will not be out in September, says manager

Adele’s manager has confirmed her hotly anticipated new album will not be out in September as originally planned.

Like the rest of the world, the music industry has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning a number of artists’ records have been pushed back.

And Jonathan Dickens, who manages Adele as well as other high profile acts such as London Grammar, admits the global pop star has been hit just like everybody else.

Speaking to Music Week, he said: "It (Adele’s fourth album) isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.

"We’re all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops. It’ll come when it’s ready.

"I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working."

Fans are eagerly awaiting the follow-up to Adele’s incredibly successful ‘25’ which was released back in 2015.

Since then, the platinum-selling singer-songwriter has kept a low profile as she continues to shield from the spotlight.

However, she did reveal her recent weight loss in a photo on her Instagram last month.

Dickens also revealed that London Grammar are working on their new album, but that it has been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were in the process of getting the next record mixed and finished, we were a little more fortunate than some of the other people who’d already pressed go on campaigns when coronavirus hit," he added.

"It’s been hard, you’re trying to make assets and we’re seeing the huge grounds visual is making up now, alongside audio."
