American racing driver Sabré Cook to return home for Indy Pro 2000 after rejoining Team Benik

American motor racing star Sabré Cook is preparing to return to her home country after two years in Europe as she rejoins Team Benik for part of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship.

The 25-year-old raced in Europe in the inaugural all-female W Series in 2019 and will compete again this year despite her participation in the Indy Pro.

" I'm very excited to rejoin Team Benik and my Road to Indy campaign," said Cook.

"I think supplementing my second season in W Series competition with another great open wheel series like the Indy Pro 2000 Championship will only accelerate my development as a driver.

"We're all excited for a great season!"

Cook will partake in six of the 12 Indy Pro races, starting on the streets of St Petersburg on March 12.

She will also be on the start line for the Circuit of the Americas in Austin in May, Road America in Wisconsin in June as well as the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in August and September.

"Sabré was with us in a partial USF2000 season in 2018, and we are happy to have her back in 2020," added team Principal Nick Mitchell.

"She has a lot of racing planned in 2020, and we look forward to supporting her in her six events in North America and can't wait to get to St. Pete.

"She has worked for this opportunity, and we are very happy to be part of it with her."
