Ashley Banjo admits feeling ‘overwhelming negativity’ for first time after birth of second child in lockdown

Ashley Banjo has revealed he struggled ‘to find any positives’ for the first time after his second child was born during coronavirus lockdown.

The 31 year-old Diversity dancer said when his son named Micah was born in March, and his wife Francesca had recovered from a caesarean section birth, he was left with an ‘overwhelming sense of negativity’.

Banjo, who has appeared as a judge on Dancing on Ice, said he had never felt so negative before.

The pair had their first child in February 2019 called Rose Adura Banjo.

In lockdown he has been looking after the children when his wife ‘couldn’t move’ and said he started to see his ‘livelihood disappear’.

He told The Sunday Mirror: “The world was changing but I couldn’t react to what was happening because I was looking after my family. There was a good five or six weeks where I was like, ‘Wow, this is tough’.

“I felt this overwhelming sense of negativity that I’ve never felt before. I’m a positive person, I always try to have a positive outlook.

“I was sitting there going, if someone said to me now, ‘Ash, where’s the positives in all of this?’ I would struggle to find any.”

He has thanked his family for helping him through it and added: “As long as we all tackle it together, we’re all good.”
