The Great British Bake Off star Candice Brown has confirmed she has split from her husband of two years Liam Macauley.

Brown, who won the baking competition in 2016, married Macauley in 2018 after eight years of dating.

In a statement to Hello magazine, she said: "Liam and I split earlier this year. It is a very sad time for both of us."

It has been reported that Macauley has now moved out of the pub they shared together called The Green Man in Eversholt.

The pair met in 2012 at a bar where he was working and they married six years later at the Chateau de Varennes in Burgundy in an outdoor ceremony.

At the time Brown announced her marriage by posting on social media: "Got married, didn’t we? The congratulations & love we have received is incredible! Thank you so much for all your kinds words."

And yesterday morning she put on a brave face as she was on Good Morning Britain to speak about re-opening her pub.
