Women’s Super League club Birmingham City have triggered a one-year extension in Lucy Whipp’s contract.

The forward has made 19 appearances for the club and will now stay until 2021.

She signed for City from St John’s University in New York and has previously played for Everton.

Whipp scored her first goal for the club back in December in a 2-0 away victory against Bristol City.

Birmingham finished this season of the WSL in 11th place and only just remained in the league following a battle for relegation with Liverpool.

Liverpool were sent down by the Football Association based on a points per game system, with City having only 0.11 more points per game than the Reds.
