The Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro has tested positive for coronavirus just days after shaking hands with US president Donald Trump, it has been reported.

Bolsonaro met Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Miami last weekend.

The White House has said Trump has no plans to get tested for the virus and the President said yesterday: "I'm not concerned."

White House spokeperson Stefanie Grisham said: "Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time."

Bolsonaro's son, Eduardo, has said the delegation that went with his father have not been tested.

He wrote on Twitter: "Too much lies and little information. Coronavirus exam done with the team that were with [Mr Bolsonaro] in USA have not yet been completed.

"There are always those people who tell lies in the media and if the story is confirmed they say 'I told you!', if not will be just 1 more fake news".
