Brighton sign Lee Geum-min on loan from Manchester City

Women’s Super League side Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Lee Geum-min on loan from Manchester City.

The striker will remain at Brighton for the entire upcoming season. She signed for City last August on a two-year deal.

The South Korean international has 50 caps for her country and has scored 16 goals. She also featured in the 2019 World Cup.

Brighton manager Hope Powell said: “We’re delighted to bring Lee to the club, it’s a real coup for us to sign a player of her quality and experience.

“She has had a year in England so knows the league and she will help us in an area that want to improve which is to score more goals.

“We’re really looking forward to working with her and I know how much she is looking forward to a new challenge here at Brighton.”

The loan deal adds to the club’s bolster of signings ahead of next season.

Finland international Nora Heroum, former Bristol City player Katie Robinson and ex-Charlton goalkeeper Katie Startup have all been added to the club’s roster.

The WSL is expected to start its season on September 5.
