GB women's 4x100m freestyle relay squad won gold in the final race of the World Para Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre.

The team of Alice Tai, Steph Millward, Toni Shaw and Brock Whiston helped secure a second place finish in the medal table for Great Britain, who finished with a total of 47 medals - 19 golds, 14 silvers and 14 bronze.

Tai landed her seventh gold, whilst teammate Whiston set a world record taking 0.58 seconds off her previous world record in the SM8 100m breaststroke.

Tai said of the relay win: “I could just hear the crowd going crazy so I knew I just had to go and win it for us and for the country and I am so glad.

"Nothing will ever compare to this competition for me.”

Great Britain have earned themselves 17 spots for next year’s Tokyo Paralympic Games.

During the series Tully Kearney won three gold medals in the S5 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle.

The 22-year-old said: “I wanted to get a bit closer to that world record [in the 100m] but I really can’t ask for any more.

“Three out of three isn’t bad at all. This gives me a lot of confidence going forward and I’m hoping to train through the whole of next season and see if I can make Tokyo and see what that might bring.”

Maisie Summers-Newton set a new European record finishing second in the SB6 100m breaststroke.
