Canadian Janine Beckie re-signs for Manchester City in a two-year deal

Manchester City forward Janine Beckie has re-signed for the club in a two-year deal.

Beckie originally moved to City from National Women's Soccer League side Sky Blue in 2018.

Since the she has made 46 appearances for the Women's Super League club and scored 13 goals. The Canadian international will now stay at the club until 2022.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted to be extending my time here at City. The last two years have been more than I could have imagined and after the progress and memories I have made so far, there was no doubt when it came to making the decision to re-sign.

“The club is committed to the growth of the women’s game and is continuing to produce one of the best environments for players in the world. 

“I am very much looking forward to next two years and adding my presence to a trophy winning team.
