Comedian Jimmy Carr reveals new look after hair transplant

Comedian Jimmy Carr has shown off his new hairstyle after revealing he has had a hair transplant.

The 47 year-old had famously kept the same appearance on TV for two decades, with his trademark quiff supporting his ever-present suit.

But now that has all changed after he shaved his head and had a procedure to re-cover his balding scalp.

Speaking on Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer, he says: "I tell you what I did, I went and had a hair transplant. (Before) I kinda had a look of… Like a snooker playing vampire.

"So what happened was my hair was socially distancing from my forehead and I’d had enough of it.

"I shaved my head and what they do is take hairs from the back of your head and they put them on the front.

"Basically I had enough hair, it was just in the wrong place. It was a bit of redistribution."

Hair transplants can be as expensive as £20,000, with stars such as Wayne Rooney adopting them in the past after losing hair at a young age.

Much like all other comedians in the UK, Carr has had to stop touring during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Isleworth-born funny man is widely regarded as one of the hardest working comedians on the circuit due to his constant, relentless number of shows.
