The Masters at Augusta postponed

The Masters at Augusta in Georgia has been postponed. 

The first men's major championship of the year was set to begin on April 9 and will mark the first postponement since World War II.

Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said: "We hope this puts us in the best position to safely host the Masters Tournament and our amateur events at some later date."

Premiership Rugby Cup final postponed

The Premiership Rugby Cup final between Sale Sharks and Harlequins has been postponed. 

The news came after an individual staff member from one of the clubs showed symptoms of the coronavirus. 

A new date has not yet been set for the match. 

Premiership Rugby wrote in a statement: "We're incredibly sorry to all the people who will be disappointed.

"However the welfare of fans, players and staff remains our first concern."

Boston Marathon postponed until September

The Boston Marathon has been postponed until September 14.

It was set to take place on April 20 and it marks the first time in its 123-year history that the iconic marathon has been delayed.

London Marathon postponed until October

The London Marathon has been postponed until October 4. 

It was set to go ahead on April 26. The events director Hugh Brasher confirmed that it has been delayed. 

Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 suspended

The top two divisions on German men's football have been suspended.

The DFL confirmed the leagues will take a break until April 2.

Cases rise in the UK

The Department of Health have confirmed that there have now been 798 cases of COVID-19 in the UK.

This is up from 590 that were confirmed yesterday. 

Inverness Caledonian Thistle player in isolation

Scottish team Inverness Caledonian Thistle has a player in isolation after they displayed symptoms of the coronavirus.

The club are awaiting the test results of the player, who they have not named.

This follows the Scottish domestic league being postponed.

Wales v Scotland is off

Wales v Scotland has been postponed.

It will most likely be played when Italy v England and France v Ireland will be rescheduled.

Giro d'Italia cancelled

Cycling event Giro d'Italia has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.

Road cycling's second biggest race was set to start on May 9 in Budapest.

A statement read: "In response to the spread of coronavirus the Hungarian government has declared a state of emergency. This prohibits the organisation of mass events and makes it impossible to organise international events.

"As a consequence, the Organising Committee of the Giro d'Italia's Hungarian stages declared that the Giro's start could not be held in Hungary at the originally scheduled time. All parties have agreed that they are determined to work together to enable the Giro d'Italia to depart from Hungary at a later time.

"RCS Sport, having taken note of the international and national situation, announces that the date of the 2020 Giro d'Italia is thereby postponed. 

"The new date will be announced no earlier than 3 April when the provisions of the DPCM of 4 March 2020 will end, and only after having consulted with appropriate representatives of the Italian Government, local and territorial authorities and Italian and international sports institutions."

West Ham manager David Moyes in quaratine

West Ham's manager David Moyes has been quarantined after he shook hands with Arsenal's boss Mikel Arteta.

Arteta has tested positive for coronavirus.

Although they haven't shown signs of the virus, Moyes and other coaching staff will isolate as a precaution.
