FA Women’s Championship side Coventry United have signed Alice Hassall ahead of next season.

Hassall joins from Aston Villa who announced the midfielder’s departure in June as Villa were promoted into the Women’s Super League.

The club tweeted that her arrival would ‘bolster’ manager Jay Bradford’s ‘mid-park options’.

Hassall is yet to comment on her signing but her former Villa team-mate Jade Richards has said she is ‘excited’ for her friend.

She tweeted: “There she is. What a signing, not only as player but as a person too. 

"Going to bring so much to the club both on and off the pitch. Excited to support & follow your journey this season my friend.”
