Darts' 'Queen of the Palace' Fallon Sherrock believes she can win the PDC World Darts Championship

Fallon Sherrock believes she can win the PDC World Darts Championships following her sensational performance in this year's tournament.

The 25-year-old, who became the first woman to win a match at the Blue Riband event has now been offered a challenger spot at the Premier League after reaching the third round at Ally Pally.

She stunned everyone by beating Ted Evetts 3-2 in the first round and continued her form against world number 11 Mensur Suljovic before losing out to Chris Dobey in the third round.

Speaking to Sky Sports News about her aspirations, she said: "My game is improving all the time, women's darts is improving all the time, so there's nothing saying that one day I can't be lifting that trophy at the end of it."

But she recognises the importance of competing at the top level if she is to have a chance of getting close to the title.

"I can improve on what I've done and hopefully playing the better players on these stages will help me achieve that. Then hopefully I can get back to Ally Pally next year and beat a couple more people."

The Milton-Keynes born star will next compete as a challenger at the Premier League in Nottingham ahead of joining the six-match world series.

"I'm so excited for the year ahead. I get to go on to big stages with all these top men now and do something that I can only dream of.

"Playing these men and travelling the world doing something I love to do - play darts - that's incredible. I can only dream of that and now it's happening," she added.

"I'm really looking forward to going to the World Series in New York. I've never been there, so I'm just so excited to see all the people over there and how they're going to greet me and my fan base, and obviously seeing some of the sights as well."
