Reading have signed defender Deanna Cooper from Chelsea.

She was with the WSL champions for three years, making 29 appearances.

Royals boss Kelly Chambers said Cooper is a ‘gifted player’. 

“Deanna is a player I've have always liked watching and now want to see more of. I have been interested in bringing her to Reading for some time and I am just delighted to get a deal done to bring her to the club,” she said.

"She is a gifted player who wears her heart on her sleeve and does everything for her team. I believe she will fit into my squad perfectly and definitely suits our style of play. I'm excited to see her in a Reading shirt."

Cooper tweeted: "Very excited to announce I have signed for Reading Women FC.

“It is a great club with a big future and I cannot wait for the new season to get started and be a part of it.  Lets Gooo!!!”

This comes after Reading signed two former Arsenal stars in Danielle Carter and Emma Mitchell.
