Dominic Cummings self-isolating after experiencing coronavirus symptoms

Dominic Cummings, senior adviser to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, experienced symptoms of coronavirus over the weekend and is now in self-isolation at home.

No 10 has confirmed that Mr Cummings first started developing symptoms over the weekend but will remain in contact with Mr Johnson and the rest of the Downing Street team during his compulsory quarantine period.

He was seen running from No 10 only a short time after the Prime Minister revealed his own positive test via video.

The senior adviser became the latest high-profile of the Government's team to go into isolation after the Prime Minister tested positive on Friday followed by health minister Matt Hancock.

Chief medical adviser Chris Whitty also announced that he would be self-isolating, just hours later after presenting symptoms.
