Dominic Raab announced as 'stand-in PM' should Boris Johnson fall ill with coronavirus

Dominic Raab has been named as Boris Johgnson's stand-in, should the Prime Minister become incapacitated due to coronavirus.

The foreign secretary has been named as the 'designated survivor' should Mr Johnson fall victim to the disease, but a spokesman has assured the public that the Prime Minister is currently 'well'.

The clarification comes after it was reported that a number of ministers had called for Cabinet Officer Minister Michael Gove to take up the role rather than Mr Raab.

Mr Johnson is not believed to have taken a coronavirus test, but is considered to be at risk due to the high number of meetings he is currently attending.
