Donald Trump storms out of press conference after being fact-checked by reporter

Donald Trump walked out of his press conference on Saturday after being fact-checked by a reporter in relation to the Veterans Choice bill.

It came after the President stated that he had ‘just signed two great bills for our veterans. We passed Veterans’ Choice and Veterans’ Accountability’.

CBS News White House correspondent Paula Reid took umbrage to that claim and pressed him on why he would say such a thing.

She said: "Why do you keep saying that you passed Veterans Choice?"

Trump then attempted to move on to another question, before Reid added: "You said that you passed Veterans Choice. It was passed in 2014...it was a false statement, sir."

The 74-year-old then appeared uncharacteristically flustered as he turned to his left before shutting down the press conference.

He said: "OK, thank you very much, everybody," before walking off stage.

Barack Obama signed the Veterans Choice law back in 2014, a bill which enables veterans to be covered for care by doctors outside the VA system.

But this was not the first time in his tenure that Trump has claimed to have passed the Veterans Choice law.

Back in July, he said: "On the VA, we got Veterans Choice. Nobody thought that would be possible. That´s been many decades.

"They've been trying to get Veterans Choice. It´s called `Choice,´ where they can go get a doctor if they have to wait on line for two weeks or five weeks or two days."
