England forward Beth Mead signs new contract with Women's Super League champions Arsenal

England forward Beth Mead has signed a new 'long-term' deal with Women's Super League champions Arsenal.

The 24-year-old has been at the North London outfit since joining from Sunderland in January 2017.

She has played 76 times for the league winners and contributed an impressive 32 goals in that spell.

In her first full season with The Gunners she finished as their top scorer and already has four goals in 11 games so far this campaign.

As well as excelling at club level, Mead has also been recognised by England, who she has earned 25 caps with.

The creative attacker has been in superb form recently, scoring three times in her last six appearances for the Lionesses.

And Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro is the first person to praise how important she is to his side.

"Beth is an integral part of our squad," he said. "She is incredibly talented and she has developed so much in the last couple of years, so we are excited to see her continued growth."
