Former US soccer international Lori Chalupny has a baby girl

Former US international soccer player Lori Chalupny has announced she has given birth to a baby girl and called her Riley Sierra.

Chalupny and husband Caleb Lawson welcomed their second daughter after having their first, Lucy, in 2018. The couple married in 2017.

She announced the news on Twitter, writing: “Welcome to the world Riley Sierra! She arrived kicking and screaming yesterday evening. We are so in love!”

Many of her former team-mates and coaches congratulated the pair on their new arrival.

Former US player Heather O’Reilly said: “Soooo pretty”

While former University of Washington coach Lesle Gallimore added: "Congrats to your family Chalupa!!! She's beautiful!!!"

And Auburn University head coach Karen Hoppa wrote: “Congrats! She’s so beautiful!”

Chalupny announced she was pregnant again in March on social media.

The soccer star retired from the sport in 2015. At the time she played for National Women’s Soccer League club Chicago Red Stars and the US international squad.

She won the World Cup in 2015. She scored ten goals in 106 appearances for the US team.
