Pop sensation Katy Perry has addressed rumours that Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston would be the godmother to her and partner Orlando Bloom’s baby.

Perry is nearing the end of her pregnancy and in recent weeks there have been multiple reports the Friends star would have a key role in the baby’s life.

Speaking to KIIS FM hosts Kyle and Jackie O, she said: "She texted us, because we are friendly with her, and [my fiancé] Orlando [Bloom] is one of her good friends. And we were like wow, this is a wild rumour. 

“God knows she’s had everything said about her. This is a fun rumour. But no, we have no idea where it came from.”

And she joked the rumours were ‘a product of the media and the internet. You should definitely believe everything you read’.

In the interview she also spoke about body positivity.

“I’m really grateful for my body, and I have so much respect for other women going through this process. You get a whole new viewpoint being pregnant,” she said. 

“But everything is swollen! My hands are swollen, and my feet are starting to swell!”

Perry has not given a specific due date but it’s expected to be this month or next.

The baby is the singer’s first, while her partner Bloom already has nine year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Perry and Bloom have been dating on and off since 2016 and he proposed on Valentine’s Day last year.
