KFC re-opens some takeaway branches across the UK

Fast food fans have had their prayers answered as KFC announced they will be reopening a selected number of stores across the country until the UK's coronavirus lockdown is lifted.

The chicken giants will run a reduced menu for takeaway at 11 branches for the first time since they closed on March 25 following government social-distancing instructions.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Over the last week, we've reopened 11 of our restaurants in the UK.

"They're open for delivery only and are serving a limited menu, operated by fewer team members with new procedures in place to help ensure we're following social distancing guidelines.

"There's still a need for affordable, accessible food at this time - so we want to do our part," they added.

The fried chicken company have donated over 3,000 meals to NHS staff and key workers during the shutdown and will continue with their charitable donations as each of the open restaurants will be offering 100 free dinners to frontline staff every Tuesday.

Fans of the Colonel's chicken in cities including Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow are among those who can get their (washed) fingers on the fried goodies.
