LIVE NWSL Challenge Cup semi-final: Houston Dash 1-0 Portland Thorns FC

The semi-finals of the National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup take place today and first up is Houston Dash and Portland Thorns FC.

The other semi-final will take place at 8pm MDT / 3am BST between Chicago Red Stars and Sky Blue FC.

Welcome back to the NWSL Challenge Cup!

The tournament has reached the semi-finals and Houston Dash will battle Portland Thorns FC for a spot in the final.

Chicago Red Stars will also be playing Sky Blue FC in the other semi this evening.

Dash have announced who will be starting for them today.

Captain Rachel Daly has impressed this tournament and so has keeper Jane Campbell whose performance sent them through to the semi.

Lindsey Horan, who was an injury risk, is on the bench.

If the match is a draw at 90 minutes, the teams will face off in a penalty shoot-out.

Semi-final is at Rio Tinto stadium

The semi-finals and final will be hosted at the Rio Tinto Stadium.

All other matches before this have been at Zions Bank Stadium.

Thorns have advantage in the stats

Dash have only beaten Thorns twice in their history.

The last time they were victorious was back in 2016.
