Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal

HALF-TIME: All square at the break. Vivianne Miedema’s third minute strike has been cancelled out by Sam Mewis’ towering header. Manchester City have been the better side but it’s level after 45 minutes at the Academy Stadium.

47 min: Arsenal look to be playing a little higher up the pitch at the start of this second half. There may well be more space for Stanway, Hemp and Kelly to get in behind.

Stanway tries her luck from the edge of the area but is off balance and her shot is high and wide.

50 min: Mewis uses her pace o beat Beattie to a pass in behind. She looks up but puts her cross straight into the hands of Williams.

52 min: Arsenal now back in their defensive block. Maybe I gave them too much credit when I said they were coming out a bit more attacking. City penning them in again now and they have a free-kick. Chance to cross into the box.

53 min: Greenwood floats the ball to the back post but it’s punched away really well by Williams.

55 min: Arsenal simply cannot get more than 30 yards away from their own goal. City win it back again and Mewis is fouled. Another chance for Greenwood to wave the left-footed wand.
