LIVE UPDATES: Women’s FA Cup semi-final - Birmingham City 0-3 Everton

Birmingham City and Everton will face off this evening in the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals as they bid for a place at Wembley Stadium on October 31.

Carla Ward’s side edged past Brighton in the last eight as they were pegged back twice before eventually winning on penalties.

They will be the underdogs heading into this one, but will relish the opportunity as they bid to replicate their 2017 run and reach the final once more.

Meanwhile, Willie Kirk’s Everton produced the shock of the round as they knocked out Women’s Super League champions Chelsea with a 2-1 win.

The Toffees have not reached the final since they were beaten by Arsenal back in 2014, so will be fired up to erase that run later on tonight.

Birmingham City v Everton (KO 7:15pm GMT)

Hi there!

Well, it’s only been three days since the FA Cup quarter-finals but we’re already back here for the semis! Feels weird doesn’t it? And that’s before you even consider the fact that the competition is actually last season’s edition being played in the middle of the following season.

Confused as I am? Thought so. Ok, let’s just get to the teams line-ups then.

Everton beat WSL champions Chelsea to get to the last four here, so the pressure will be on them tonight to reach the final.

But Birmingham will know this is a huge, huge opportunity to reach Wembley. Can they spring a surprise here?

Birmingham City v Everton

There’s no doubt the winner of this semi-final will be the underdog in the final. But that could work positively for both sides tonight as they know reaching Wembley will mean the pressure is then off.

Manchester City and Arsenal will be feeling a great deal more pressure tomorrow, I would imagine.

1 min: Here we go then! Everton get us underway.

Birmingham City 0-0 Everton

2 min: Turner clips in an in-swinging ball towards the Birmingham penalty area. Hampton clutches the ball but then spills it! Fortunately she manages to gather at the second attempt.

Early panic for Carla Ward’s side.

Birmingham City 0-0 Everton

5 min: Scrappy early few minutes here as both sides struggle to keep the ball for any sustained period of time.

Birmingham look a little exposed when Everton get in between the lines through the likes of Izzy Christiansen, but no major danger just yet.
