London Roar pipped in last race of the European derby but still qualify for Vegas International Swimming League final

London Roar have qualified for the International Swimming League final after an action packed inaugural UK event at the London Aquatics Centre.

The mixed team, captained by Adam Peaty, will now head to the grand finale on December 20 and 21 in Las Vegas where they will be looking to make waves against the Cali Condors, Los Angeles Current and Energy Standard.

Despite being beaten by fellow European-based Energy Standard in the final race of the weekend - the 'skins' 50m freestyle - London Roar emerged overall victors in front of a sell-out crowd.

Notable performances came from Dutch swimmer Ranomi Kromowidjojo, who made it three out of three wins this season, as well as Britain's Holly Hibbott, who won the women’s 400m freestyle.

Olympic champions Sarah Sjostrom and Katinka Hosszu remained dominant as ever across the women's programme, while Minna Atherton finished within 0.02 of the world record in the 200m backstroke.
