Manchester United seek to continue strong start to first ever Women's Super League campaign as they travel to West Ham

Even the most optimistic of Manchester United fans will be thrilled with the start the team has made to their first ever Women's Super League season.

After losing their first two games of the campaign against rivals Manchester City and champions Arsenal, the Red Devils have secured four victories from their last five league matches.

And last time out against Brighton they put in their most dominant display to date, dispatching the south coast side 4-0 as Leah Galton grabbed the headlines with a brilliant brace.

United have conceded just once in their last six games - in the defeat to Arsenal - so West Ham will have their work cut out if they are to find a way through on their home patch.

The Hammers have been largely disappointing in recent weeks.

After two wins and two losses from their first four WSL games, they have suffered three successive defeats to Chelsea, Manchester City and Reading, shipping a total of 11 goals.

Last weekend against The Royals, Matt Beard's side led 2-0 with a quarter of an hour remaining, but capitulated to concede three times in seven minutes and slump to a 3-2 defeat.

United could move into the top four with a win on Sunday providing Everton lose at home to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, if results go against them then West Ham could find themselves second bottom come Monday morning.

The match kicks off at 3pm on Sunday at the Rush Green Stadium and will be available to watch on the FA Player.

There will also be a full round-up of all the weekend's WSL games on the NewsChain website.
