29 June 2021

A teenager placed Mega Millions bets after he allegedly killed two women in a pact with a demon, a court has heard.

Danyal Hussein, 19, is accused of launching a ferocious knife attack on sisters Bibaa Henry, 46, and Nicole Smallman, 27, in the early hours of June 6 last year.

The women, who had been celebrating Ms Henry’s birthday, were found dead in bushes in Fryent Country Park in north London the following day.

After Hussein’s arrest on July 1 last year, police found a handwritten note addressed to a demon and signed in his blood, the Old Bailey has heard.

The agreement pledged to “sacrifice” women and in exchange for winning the Mega Millions Super Jackpot, which the court heard was £321 million.

Next to the paper document in Hussein’s bedroom were three lottery tickets, jurors have heard.

On Tuesday, jurors heard how Hussein had set up an online account with LottoGo.com on June 4 last year.

Bank records allegedly showed that five Mega Millions bets and one Mega Millions syndicate bet were placed on June 7 last year, totalling £17.50.

On June 9 last year, three EuroMillions tickets and one EuroMillions syndicate ticket were bought for £12.50.

On June 13, Hussein’s card was allegedly used to purchase various online scratchcard games.

Hussein went on to report his bank card as lost, saying on June 16 that he was unaware when this had happened.

He denied that purchases including a knife block from Asda on June 3 were made by him.

The same day, a different card in the defendant’s name was allegedly used to purchase four Mega Millions Super Jackpot bets via LottoGo, plus one free bet.

And on June 29, £5.50 was spent on Lotto, EuroMillions and Thunderball tickets which were allegedly recovered from Hussein’s bedroom beside the demon agreement.

Hussein, of Guy Barnett Grove, Blackheath, south-east London, has denied two counts of murder and possessing a knife.
