Nat Sciver helps England off to a winning start in first Twenty20 against Pakistan as they look ahead to World Cup in Australia
England all-rounder Nat Sciver continued her scintillating form scoring an unbeaten 34 and taking 2-12 as England cruised to a 29 run victory in the opening Twenty20 over Pakistan in Malaysia.
A quick-fire 53 off 39 balls from opener Amy Jones and a handy 30 from the in-form Tammy Beaumont helped England reach 154-4 from their 20 overs.
The Pakistan response got off to a shaky start as they lost both openers Nahida Khan and Javeria Khan for ducks.
As in the ODI series, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof provided the only resistance, making 60, but as one of only three members of the team to reach double figures.
Tight bowling from Sciver and spinner Sophie Ecclestone helped finish off the Pakistan innings within 18.4 overs and put England 1-0 up in the three-match series.
Heather Knight's England team will be hoping to continue this form into the next games on Thursday and Saturday and looking ahead to the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in February.
England also claimed the ODI series 2-0 earlier this month.
