Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills has been arrested and charged with a felony after he attended a peaceful protest for Breonna Taylor.

He was one of 87 people arrested after they marched on the home of attorney general Daniel Cameron.

According to a Louisville jail booking log, Stills was arrested for intimidating a participant in the legal process, misdemeanour, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

All 87 people were charged with similar offences and a statement by the Louisville Metro Police suggests protesters were ‘given the chance to leave’ before arrest.

Taylor was shot dead in her home in Louisville by police in March as officers were carrying out a no-knock warrant for a drugs case. No narcotics were found on Taylor’s property and many have called for the officers responsible to face justice.

Attorney general Cameron has faced calls to arrest the officers but so far that has not happened although one has been fired.

Stills has been vocal about injustice in the past and while he played for the Miami Dolphins he took a knee during the national anthem.

He attended George Floyd’s funeral last month and has been a part of other Black Lives Matter protests in Louisville.
