Northern Ireland confirm first death from coronavirus

The first death from coronavirus has been reported from Northern Ireland.

Health services in Belfast said the patient was elderly, had an underlying medical condition and was being treated in a hospital in the greater Belfast area.

Health Minister Robin Swann expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the patient.

The patient was one of 68 confirmed cases in Northern Ireland, while the Republic of Ireland reported 74 new cases on Wednesday taking their case number to 366.
