NWSL Challenge Cup semi-finals: Who is playing who? And when?

The National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup has reached the semi-final stage after some dramatic quarter-finals over the weekend.

Portland Thorns FC caused the biggest upset as they defeated North Carolina Courage 1-0 to knock-out the defending champions who were unbeaten in the tournament up until that point.

The other upset was caused by Sky Blue FC as they triumphed 4-3 on penalties over Washington Spirit.

Chicago Red Stars beat OL Reign on penalties and Houston Dash secured their penalty shoot-out against Utah Royals FC.

And so the teams have been decided for the semi-finals but who is playing who and when? 

Here are all the details you need to know.

Portland Thorns FC v Houston Dash

Thorns will be competing against Dash for a place in the final.

The two sides have not yet faced each other in the tournament. 

Thorns’ Morgan Weaver has been a star for the side while Dash’s captain Rachel Daly has been the stand-out player for her club.

Their semi will be played on July 22 with a kick off time of 10.30am MDT / 5.30pm BST. It will be available to watch on CBS All Access for North American viewers and Twitch for international fans.

Sky Blue FC v Chicago Red Stars

Blue will be playing against Red Stars in the other semi-final.

The two sides have not competed against each other so far in the tournament.

Red Stars captain Julie Ertz has been a key player for her side while Nahomi Kawasumi has starred for Blue.

Their semi will be played on July 22 with a kick off time of 8pm MDT / 3am BST. It will be available to watch on CBS All Access for North American viewers and Twitch for international fans.

The winners will meet in the final on July 26.
