NWSL side Houston Dash in a hurry to announce signing of Brianna Visalli from Birmingham City

Brianna Visalli has signed a two-year deal for National Women’s Soccer League club Houston Dash.

The 24 year-old is joining Dash from Women’s Super League side Birmingham City who she has played for since July 2019.

She made the move to City from fellow WSL side West Ham.

She wrote on Twitter: "Two seasons in the @barclaysfawsl, one @TheWomensFACup , and a season with @bcfcwomen —what an amazing experience both as a footballer and person, so thank you.

“Very excited about the journey that lies ahead @nwsl with the @houstondash #holditdown”

However, Dash were a bit quick off the mark by announcing the signing without City’s knowledge.

The WSL club said on their website: "The Club agreed to release her early from her contract in order that she could sign for Houston Dash, of the NWSL.

“Unfortunately this news was announced prematurely by Houston, without prior warning.”

The signing comes after it was revealed players at the club were being furloughed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
