PGA Tour announces rest of 2020 season events will remain behind-closed-doors

The PGA Tour have announced events scheduled for the remainder of the 2020 season will be played behind-closed-doors. 

The five tournaments that have already been played went ahead without crowds, but fans were expected to attend the Memorial Tournament in Ohio on July 16.

But due to the coronavirus pandemic, organisers have now announced that no fans will be allowed at any events for the rest of the season.

Tour Championship executive director Allison Fillmore said that 'these decisions are never easy,' but that it was the ‘best decision’. 

The PGA Tour will finish in Atlanta with the Tour Championship on September 4.

The remaining events for the season are: 

  • The Memorial- July 16-19
  • 3M Open- July 23-26
  • WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational- July 30 - Aug 2
  • Barracuda Championship- July 30 - Aug 2
  • Wyndham Championship- Aug 13-16
  • The Northern Trust - Aug 20-23
  • BMW Championship- Aug 27-30
  • Tour Championship- Sept 4-7
