Riverdale actress Vanessa Morgan has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Michael Kopech.

In an emotional Instagram, she also revealed the couple are having a boy as well as showing fans her pregnancy tests from when she found out the happy news in May.

She wrote: "Was debating keeping this part of my life hidden but I knew people would see pictures eventually with my belly & I wanted you guys to hear it from me.

“I do want to keep this chapter of my life private but did want to be the first to share the news. I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January.”

She added how much her child has impacted her already.

"It’s almost like everything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed.. We’re here for such a greater purpose and life is so precious. 

"I can’t believe how much growth & strength you’ve already given me as your mom. It’s like God knew I needed you, my angel. The universe works in mysterious ways but always times everything the way it was meant to be. 

“Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly.”

Stars were quick to congratulate the couple on their news.

Fellow Riverdale actress Camila Mendes wrote: “Omg Vanessa!!! So excited for you. congrats boo.”

While actress Sarah Fisher commented: "Congratulations beautiful!!!!!!!!!! Wow I am so so happy for you"

And actress Hayley Ramm wrote: "Ah congrats, beautiful! You’re going to be wonderful!!!!"

Morgan, 28, married Chicago White Sox baseball star Kopech, 24, in January of this year. 

The actress is best know for playing Toni Topaz in Riverdale. The show first aired in 2017 and has just been renewed for its fifth season
