Barbra Streisand labels Donald Trump a ‘coward’ and ‘incompetent’ as she declares support for Joe Biden

American singer Barbra Streisand has blasted Donald Trump, labelling him ‘incompetent’ and a ‘coward’.

The 78-year-old New Yorker was speaking at a virtual fundraiser for Democratic nominee Joe Biden called Celebration for Change.

And Streisand pulled no punches in questioning the character of the President.

She said: “Let’s face it, Trump is unfit, mentally and morally, to hold this distinguished office,” reported NME.

"A few weeks ago, Trump called out the troops against peaceful protesters. That is what cowards do when they are scared.

"Donald Trump has failed us. And we cannot survive four more years of his incompetence we’re feeling right now.

"(Biden) will listen to people rather than greeting them with guns. All they want is justice. It’s as simple as that."

Streisand did not perform at the fundraiser but gave an eight minute speech at the end of the event.

A number of music artists have told President Trump he cannot use their music including The Rolling Stones, Panic! At The Disco and Linkin Park.

Trump recently had to cancel a Republican convention event in Florida due to the rising number of infections in the state.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 4.6 million people have now tested positive for the virus in the US.

And the COVID-19 death toll in the country currently stands at 150,713.
