Singer Pink slams COVID-19 testing in US after recovering from virus, then donates $1m to help

Singer Pink has described testing  for COVID-19 in the US as a 'travesty' after announcing she contracted the virus.

Addressing her fans  on Instagram, she said: "It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible.

"We must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities."

The 40 year-old, who has battled the virus for two weeks, urged her followers to follow Government advice and 'stay at home'.

After Pink tested positive and recovered she and her three-year-old son Jameson were then re-tested and the results showed negative.

She said will be donating a million dollars to emergency funds to help aid the coronavirus.

The Grammy-Award winner said: "People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities."

She is also donating 500,000 dollars to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia and the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Emergency Covid-19 crisis fund.
