Team GB trampolinist Bryony Page hopes to secure first individual world medal and Olympic qualification in Tokyo

Olympic silver medal trampolinist Bryony Page says she is in a better place now than she was four years ago ahead of the world championships in Japan.

The 28-year-old, who picked up world gold in the team event in Sofia six years ago, heads to Tokyo - the host city for next years Olympic Games - seeking her first individual world honours.

And Page is confident that she has the form to compete with the very best on the international stage.

Speaking to BBC Sport, she said: "If I perform my best, I can reach the final and press for that medal I'd really like to obtain.

"I've finished fourth before at the World and European Championships so I'm definitely going to go out there and push for it."

The Trampoline World Championships is also an opportunity for athletes to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Games, a challenge Page is excited about taking on.

"I've had to fast-track myself up to the standard where I want to be," she added.

"But I feel like I'm in a better place than I was this time in the last cycle ahead of the Rio Olympics. I feel a lot more confident in myself, the competitions have gone much better and I'm more consistent.

"So, now I want to raise my game a little bit more from making finals to pushing for medals."
