Teenage sensation Coco Gauff set to break into tennis' top 100

American teenage tennis sensation Coco Gauff is set to enter the world's top 100 for the first time in her career after reaching her first WTA Tour quarter-final.

The 15-year-old broke onto the world scene with her historic run to the Wimbledon last 16, defeating her hero Venus Williams along the way.

Gauff will now be a step closer to automatic qualification for the Australian Open after provisionally climbing to 94th in the rankings after reaching the last eight of the Linz Open after opponent Kateryna Kozlova retired.

The teenage star originally lost in qualifying for the tournament but was awarded a lucky loser spot.

Upon reaching the Wimbledon main draw, Gauff became the youngest player in the Open era to do so and has now become the youngest since 2005 to reach a WTA quarter-final.
