Tennis star Amanda Anisimova posts TikTok on what she’s learnt in lockdown, including how to cope with anxiety

US tennis star Amanda Anisimova has uploaded a TikTok telling her fans what she has learnt during the coronavirus lockdown.

The video, which she also posted to Twitter, included advice on how she deals with anxiety and panic attacks.

She says: “When you start feeling very anxious or a panic attack coming on, stop for a second and take a deep breath to reset your thoughts.”

She adds ‘listen to yourself, your opinion matters’ and ‘get comfortable spending time with yourself, find things you like doing on your own’.

And she concludes: “Don’t be scared of change! It’s how we grow. Life can seem super hard at times but keep going, you’re stronger than you think.”

The 18 year-old has had a lot to deal with personally after the sudden death of her father in 2019. She previously told The New York Post: “It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. It was very tough.”

Anisimova’s video was retweeted by Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios.

And fans also supported the star.

One wrote: “Yes amanda! You are being you, doing you, for you! Remember the advice I gave you not long ago. Keep up the good work and enjoy your life. Know that you ARE loved by the universe”

While another commented: "Girl, you are utterly adorable!"

And another tweeted: “Hope you’re doing well”
